Whaa? I thought I posted here last time. Ah well, anyways:
Episode 15, I remember, was the one with the end of the Ballerina Mafia. Now, this was important to me because it was probably the first really gimmicky running gags that I absolutely loved. Originally, I didn't think much of it, because it fit into the aforementioned category, but I found myself realizing last episode that it would really be missed. It was an awesome joke, and really aided my appreciation for the series.
Episode 16 felt pretty transitory, as you said. It seemed like a collision of several various running gags, past and present. That's not to say it wasn't good; it definitely was. The Schmied line will never get old...well, it might, but probably not anytime in the near future.
